The gangster epic The Godfather comes in an entirely new formula for Francis Ford Coppola fans, available on HBO until January 28th, with the next date scheduled for Saturday, January 23rd at 6pm PT. The unabridged and full seven-hour version of the drama has never been featured in theaters, having only a minor and edited version of it broadcasted by NBC in 1977 entitled The Godfather: A Novel for Television
Revised and made available in full, the epic of The Godfather is comprised of the first and second part, edited into a single film told chronologically. The heartfelt and poignant story embraces the Corleone family, centered around the patriarch, Don Vito Corleone and much later his youngest son, Michael, focusing on the very sap, discussing both the aspects of Sicilian and American heritage.
The impressive cast includes Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, Marlon Brando, James Caan, John Cazale, Diane Keaton and Robert Duvall. The entire seven and a half hours, plus additional footage will be available both on-demand and via HBO Go in full HD.
