A recent teaser published by NBCUniversal revealed a new anime project for the Kentaro Miura-created manga, Berserk. The dark fantasy/medieval horror, action-packed story of Guts will make it to the big screen sometime during 2016, rendered in state-of-the-art CGI.
Already a big phenomenon since the manga’s 1989 debut, Berserk (i.e. (of a person or animal) out of control with anger or excitement; wild or frenzied) has already been adapted into a TV animated series and several movies, such as Berserk: The Golden Age Arc I – The Egg of the King and others.
Slated to come out with a Blu-ray DVD on April 20th, 2016, the anime will display the events surrounding the Black Swordsman, aka Guts, as he ardently seeks for sanctuary against fiends and evil spirits which seek to attack him and his woman, for which he bears deep affection. Dealing with an inevitable fate, Guts must fight his way through the foreboding which has shackled him.
