Most Anticipated Movies of December 2015

Movies 2015

The following list of movies is conceived in chronological order but I have a feeling that the first two really are the most awaited movies of December 2015 anyway. I also added the trailers of each movie in order to let you have a first impression upon the movies. You will notice that the movies are all different genres making them difficult to compare. So, here we go:

1. Star Wars:The Force Awakens
Is it normal that the trailer itself gave me goosebumps? I believe I’m not the only one who experienced that feeling. I wanna meet all the Star Wars fans in the comments section below! The epic space opera film is the seventh installment in the main Star Wars film series and its story is set aprox 30 years after the events of Return of the Jedi. The movie is directed by J. J. Abrams and stars John Boyega, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Oscar Isaac, and Max von Sydow. It is scheduled for release on December 18, 2015.

2. Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip
I feel like I am a bit more excited about this movie than I should be… for my age. Though I found the previous Alvin and the Chipmunks extremely enjoyable, I hope that the upcoming movie will, as well, a pleasant weekend night watch. The plot is focused as usual on the very well known talking Chipmunks as they attempt to stop Dave from proposing his girlfriend, thinking that, once married, Dave will try to get rid of them. The upcoming American comedy film is directed by Walt Becker, written by Randi Mayem Singer and it’s the fourth installment in the Alvin and the Chipmunks film series. It is set for release on December 23, 2015.

3. Krampus
The only upcoming horror movie of December, Krampus tells an original story of the Christmas Day, with quite terrifying characters but… I don’t know. To me, it looks more hilarious than scary. I really, really hope that the movie will stand out in the crowd of mediocre horror movies with a silly open ending. Besides, I can’t associate Adam Scott with the horror movies. The upcoming horror film was directed by Michael Dougherty and it’s set for release on December 4, 2015 by Universal Pictures.

4. In the Heart of the Sea
To be honest, the trailer of this movie looks quite promising. The visuals are stunning, the cast reunites talented actors and assuming that the movie will be in 3D (at least I hope), I think it’s not difficult to anticipate a remarkable success. The upcoming epic historical biographical disaster drama film is based on Nathaniel Philbrick’s homonymous non-fiction book. The movie is about the sinking of the whaleship Essex, stars Chris HEmsworth, Cillian Murphy and Tom Holland, and it’s scheduled for release on December 11, 2015. Take a peek at the trailer:

5. Regression
The movie’s trailer intrigued me so much that I can’t wait to see it on screens. Full of suspense and performed in a gloomy atmosphere, the psychological thriller tells the story os Detective Bruce Kenner (starring Ethan Hawke) as he investigates the case of John Gray (David Dencik) who admits to sexually abuse his daughter, Angela (the gorgeous Emma Watson), but without any recollection of doing it. The movie was directed, produced and written by the talented Alejandro Amenabar and it’s scheduled for release on December 31, 2015.
